Ownership is a driving force of accountability. We must understand accountability at its core in order to become stronger owners and leaders. Accountability is the belief that we have control over most situations and outcomes in our everyday lives, regardless of the situation or how fair it seems. What does true accountability look like to you and to your team, and how can you lead an example of it in your organization? This learning opportunity provides essential tools to lead and model this for others. This includes starting with the end in mind to build a result driven, outcome oriented team. What is the end goal of what you need to own? Know it, define it and don’t try to change it if it isn’t achieved. This sounds easy but is often a falling off point for leaders. This session will help build upon practical tools to stay accountable to the needed outcomes and help model it for your employees so they can do the same in building an accountable culture.

In today’s workplace, a lack of ownership has become a problem. Leaders make mistakes and then blame others. Leaders are finding they lack a strategic plan months after being given a project and explain that the expected results are not possible because they weren't given a vision. In examples like these, when leaders don’t take ownership of their work, the impact is far-reaching: results aren’t achieved, forward progress doesn’t occur and those being led aren't inspired toward continuous improvement. This all can change though when a leader looks at their leadership as something they own.
